Your Surplus Is Someone's Next Solution
Whether you have surplus IBC tanks taking up space or need containers for your operation, we make the process simple. Fair pricing, fast service, and the satisfaction of knowing your tanks stay in the circular economy.
We maintain an inventory of 500-800 IBC totes at any given time across all grades and sizes. That means when you need containers, we almost always have them in stock. And when you are selling, we have the storage capacity and market demand to take your totes immediately — no waiting for a buyer.
Our buy/sell program has moved over 18,000 totes in the past 24 months alone. We work with chemical plants, food producers, agricultural operations, breweries, wineries, water treatment facilities, and dozens of other industries that rely on IBCs daily. Every transaction keeps plastic out of landfills and puts quality containers back into productive use.
IBC Condition Grading System
Every IBC tote that enters our facility is inspected and assigned a grade using our standardized 4-tier system. This ensures you know exactly what you are buying or what your totes are worth when you sell. Each grade has specific criteria across five categories: bottle condition, cage integrity, valve function, pallet condition, and cleanliness.
Grade A — Excellent
Top TierLike-new condition with minimal signs of use. These totes have been used once or twice for clean, non-staining products and show no structural damage.
Grade B — Good
StandardSolid working condition with moderate cosmetic wear. These totes have seen multiple use cycles but remain structurally sound and fully functional.
Grade C — Fair
BudgetFunctional but showing significant wear. Ideal for non-critical applications like rainwater collection, garden irrigation, or general non-food storage where appearance does not matter.
Scrap / Recycling Grade
Material ValueTotes that cannot be economically reconditioned for reuse. We still purchase these for their material value — HDPE plastic and galvanized steel are both valuable recycling commodities.
Pricing Factors
IBC pricing depends on several variables. We use a transparent pricing model so you always understand why a tote is priced the way it is. Here are the key factors that determine buy and sell prices.
| Factor | Impact on Price | Details |
|---|---|---|
| Condition Grade | High | Grade A totes fetch 2-3x the price of Grade C. Scrap totes are valued at commodity rates for raw materials only. |
| Prior Contents | High | Totes that held food-grade or clean products command higher resale value. Tanks used for hazardous chemicals require more processing. |
| Volume / Size | Medium | Standard 275-gallon and 330-gallon totes are most common. The 330-gallon models carry a 5-10% premium due to higher demand. |
| Quantity | Medium | Buying or selling 10+ units triggers bulk pricing. At 50+ units, per-unit cost drops by 15-20%. At 200+ units, custom contract rates apply. |
| Manufacture Date | Low-Medium | HDPE degrades over time with UV exposure. Totes less than 3 years old bring the best prices. Totes over 7 years are typically recycled. |
| Pallet Type | Low | Steel pallets add value over wood. Composite pallets are in between. Wood pallets are standard and priced accordingly. |
| Bottle Color | Low | Natural (translucent) HDPE is preferred for visibility. Black or opaque bottles are suitable for UV-sensitive contents but less versatile for resale. |
| Market Conditions | Variable | HDPE resin prices, steel scrap rates, and seasonal demand all affect pricing. Spring and summer see higher demand and slightly higher prices. |
Selling to Us
We Buy All Conditions
Pristine or damaged, empty or residual — we purchase IBC totes in any state. Don't discard containers that seem unusable; we can recycle every component. Even severely damaged totes have material value: a standard IBC contains roughly 110 lbs of HDPE and 75 lbs of galvanized steel, both of which are valuable recycling commodities.
Instant Quotes
Submit your details through our form and receive a quote within 24 hours. Pricing depends on condition, quantity, and prior contents. For the fastest quotes, include photos showing the bottle, cage, valve, and pallet of each tote (or a representative sample for large batches). Phone quotes are also available during business hours.

For orders of 10 or more IBC totes within the St. Louis metro area (50-mile radius from Earth City), we offer free pickup. For 5-9 totes, a flat $75 pickup fee applies. Buying from Us
Multiple Grades Available
Choose from Grade A (excellent), Grade B (good), or Grade C (fair) used totes, or opt for fully reconditioned units for maximum quality. We stock both 275-gallon and 330-gallon models in most grades at all times. Every tote sold includes a condition report noting the grade, age estimate, and any relevant history we have on prior contents.
Volume Discounts
Ordering 10+ tanks? Ask about our tiered pricing. At 10-49 units, save 10% per tote. At 50-199 units, save 18%. At 200+ units, we offer custom contract pricing that locks in your rate for up to 12 months. The more you buy, the more you save — and the more plastic stays out of landfills.
Delivery Available
We deliver throughout the St. Louis area. Same-week delivery for in-stock items, often within 2-3 business days. Our flatbed trucks carry up to 20 IBCs per load. For orders over 20 units, we coordinate multi-trip delivery on consecutive days. Nationwide shipping available via LTL or full truckload freight for orders of 24+ units.
Satisfaction Guarantee
Every tank we sell matches its listed grade or better. If a container doesn't meet your expectations, we'll make it right — exchange it, upgrade it, or refund your purchase within 14 days of delivery. We have a 99.6% satisfaction rate across over 18,000 transactions because we grade conservatively and deliver honestly.
Cleaned & Ready Options
Need your purchased totes cleaned to a specific standard before delivery? We offer add-on cleaning at discounted rates when bundled with a purchase. Options range from a basic rinse (add 15% to tote price) to full food-grade sanitization (add 35%). Your totes arrive ready for immediate use, saving you the hassle of a separate cleaning step.
Pickup & Delivery Logistics
We have streamlined the logistics of buying and selling IBC totes so that your involvement is minimal. Here is what to expect from initial contact through final settlement.
Initial Assessment
Contact us with the number of totes, approximate condition, prior contents (if known), and your location. Photos are helpful but not required for an initial estimate. We respond within 4 business hours.
Quote & Agreement
We issue a written quote valid for 14 days. The quote itemizes per-unit pricing, transport fees (if any), and estimated total. For sellers, the quote includes our purchase price per grade. For buyers, it includes the tote price, any cleaning add-ons, and delivery charges.
Scheduling & Pickup
Once you approve the quote, we schedule a pickup or delivery window. We provide a 2-hour arrival window so you are not waiting all day. Our drivers arrive with a liftgate-equipped truck, load or unload the totes using a forklift or pallet jack, and verify the count on-site.
Grading & Settlement
For sellers, our team inspects and grades each tote at our facility. If grades differ from the initial estimate, we contact you before processing payment. Final payment is issued within 48 hours of grading completion. For buyers, totes are staged, verified against your order, and dispatched for delivery or held for pickup.
Tips to Maximize Your Selling Price
- Drain completely — Remove as much residual product as possible. A drained tote grades higher and saves us processing time, which means a better price for you.
- Keep labels visible — Original product labels help us identify prior contents quickly, which speeds up grading and often results in a higher classification.
- Store indoors or under cover — UV exposure degrades HDPE over time. Totes stored in shade or indoors maintain higher bottle grades and fetch better prices.
- Close the valve and cap the lid — This prevents debris, insects, and rainwater from entering the bottle and causing unnecessary contamination or odor.
- Sell in larger batches — Combining totes into a single transaction of 10+ units qualifies for bulk pricing and free pickup, maximizing your net return per tote.
- Separate by contents history — If you have totes from different product lines, group them by what they held. Totes with clean-product history are graded separately and valued higher.
